McDonald's Sued
Case Dismissed
("Mickey D's" is an American nickname for McDonald's)
My child had come to a sorry state
At four hundred pounds, and still putting on weight
He had the brains to say "I've had enough" -
Until it came to that fast food stuff
And as a parent I regard it as quite a shame
I know just who we have to blame, yes
You know just what we have to blame
It's the fat that they ladle on at Mickey D's
Burgers and fries and a helping of grease
Don't you try to tell me that that's okay
You know that they ought to pay, yes
You know I'm gonna make them pay
My friends all said I was way off-base
When I told them I knew that I had a case
But my lawyer just smiled, and with a little cough
Said "With a bit of luck, they're gonna pay us off"
And if I were them, I'd just buy off the claim
Since they are the ones to blame, yeah
You know just what we have to blame
It's the fat that they ladle on at Mickey D's
Burgers and fries and a helping of grease
Taking them to court's the Amer'can Way
I think they ought to pay, yes
You know I'm gonna make them pay
Well, I thought "A lot of other kids are fat -
A class action suit should come out of that"
And McDonalds said they would put up a fight
Because the weight wasn't gained overnight
But they'd told us their food wasn't making us obese
Never warned us about heart disease
And the fat that they ladle on at Mickey D's
Burgers and fries and a helping of grease
McDonald's is the reason my kid's that way
And I'm gonna make them pay, yeah
You know I'm gonna make them pay
Of course I was sure a court worth its salt
Would see it all was McDonald's fault
I thought the judge would tell them they should desist
But he just shook his head while saying "Case dismissed"
He said the kids were responsible for what they became
And that we had no one to blame, yes
There was no one that we could blame
And you can see that the verdict was undeserved,
That justice was not served,
Yes, all that we were served
Was the fat that they ladle on at Mickey D's
Burgers and fries and a helping of grease
Tell me, what is wrong with the world today?
Why weren't they made to pay? Yes,
You know they should be made to pay!
